What is the Anytime Locker?
The Anytime Locker offers 24/7 access to library items meaning that students and other visitors can browse, borrow and pick up held items 24 hours a day.
It works using Anytime Self Service Software, which automatically updates stock and item statuses based on user activity. Librarians can load items directly into the locker at any time, allowing visitors better access.
How to use the Anytime Locker
The Anytime Locker can be installed indoors or outdoors. It’s made from stainless steel to reduce rust, and features silicon strips for water resistance. Each locker has a rainfold to protect items inside.
Each console unit has 13 lockers as standard, to which extensions can be added with either 13 or 25 additional lockers. Users can interact with a 15” touchscreen, offering digital browsing and standard borrowing.
Items are identifiable with barcodes, allowing library staff to manually load books into each individual locked compartment. The console also comes with CCTV for added security, while it saves on paper by emailing receipts.
Library members can use the Anytime Locker to:

- Pick up items they have put on hold
- Return items without going into the library.
