Since 1967, the University of Salford has specialised in serving the industry, commerce and education sectors. Today it is home to 27,000 students and 2,500 staff, with 170,000 alumni leading research and teaching around the world. It features two key libraries: Media City and the Clifford Whitworth Library.
AdvaNova first began working with the University of Salford in 2019, when our self-service kiosks were installed across both campus libraries. In 2024, the university sought new stock management options for both buildings. Specifically, they needed a more efficient, less human error-prone approach to stock-taking, as well as identifying missing items.
Jo Moolenaar, Spaces and Innovation Officer at the University of Salford, said: “We were reviewing options for stock check and contacted AdvaNova as we’d worked with them previously. We’d also been talking to other libraries who’d been using the Live Scanning Wand, so the team arranged a demo to support our request.”
